a cannabis seed is merely cannabis protein surrounded by a husk seperated by a thin organic chemical, it needs plenty of water to encourage the seeds ecosystem into concruently breaking the seal, giving the seed energy and the plant, and sustain its growth to make a taproot, and when the taproot breaks out of the shell, it usually digs into the soil and eventually brings the plant back up, complete with coteldons making it a real plant!

most growers normally use a paper towel, in a zip lock bag, and sometimes under some heat. it helps, its almost like a hippy ritual

some people also choose to fully submerge their seed in water

Be sure to plant your seeds pointy side up so the taproot meets the medium

i personally plant 1 marijuana seed per rooter plugs, you can also use a rockwool cube if you make 100% sure its wet, but for the most part a rapid rooter grow plug, which i think is made of some kind of machine peat, thats constantly moist has given me roughly 96% germination rates. ive also been able to germinate old seeds with both rapid rooter and rockwool, and its taken upwards of 3 weeks for them to break shell and show two initial leaves

this also means you can plant rapid rooting plugs and rockwool with cannabis seed directly into soil, just make sure to not disturb the seed and to water carefully, so the seed doesnt float out of the cube and get lost in the soil

i personally feel like rapid rooters are the best out there, seriously ive gotten a 96% success rate over 20 years on them

although i did read about another method, where you put a cannabis seed in a test tube, and it breaks the shell and creates a long plant with roots in the tube, but thats more for science and its easy to permanently damage a plants roots like that
